Manchester looking for a player of "world class."

The Manchester United chief executive David Gill has admitted that Sir Alex Ferguson has the necessary funds to sign a world class player.

Who will be the signing of the speaker? "The money is there, if we believe there is a player who can improve what we believe is a very good team," said Gill. "The team has been together for several years and has done very well. In order to improve a player has to be of very high quality."

"We are always looking for players. We are looking for 365 days a year - not only when you start the transfer market. We are looking into it. We studied a lot of players in the World Cup, but we knew about a lot of them before that, "he continued. "Overall I think Sir Alex is very comfortable with the team composition. That does not mean that something will happen, but I think it is a 'could', not a 'safe'. Let's see what happens in the next six weeks, "he concluded.
